Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

We collect information you give us directly and a small amount of technical data when you use the service.

• Account information. Name, email, and for businesses your business name, service categories, and operating area.
• Request details. What you describe in a quote request: type of work, location (ZIP and city), photos or files you upload, and notes you add.
• Quotes and messages. Communications between you and businesses on the platform are stored so the conversation history is available to both sides.
• Payment information. Business subscription payment details are collected and processed by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers.
• Usage data. Standard log information (IP address, browser type, pages viewed, timestamps) to keep the service running and detect abuse.

2. How we use it

• Match customers with verified local businesses in the categories they request.
• Process subscription billing for businesses (handled by Stripe).
• Send transactional emails about your account, requests, and quotes (handled by Postmark).
• Improve the service, including basic analytics on which pages and features are used.
• Prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service.

3. Who we share it with

We share information only as needed to operate the service:

• Verified businesses you request quotes from. When you submit a request, the matched businesses see your request details so they can quote. They do not see your contact information until you choose one of them.
• Service providers we use. Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payments), Postmark (transactional email), and Cloudflare (security and content delivery). These providers process data on our behalf under contracts that restrict their use of it.
• Legal requirements. If we are required by law to disclose information, we will do so. We do not sell personal information to advertisers or data brokers.

4. How long we keep it

Account information is retained while your account is active. Quote requests and message history are kept while your account is active so you can refer to them. If you delete your account, we delete personal information from our active systems within thirty days, except where retention is required for legal, tax, or accounting purposes (typically up to seven years).

5. Your rights

You can access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time by emailing admin@empowerquotes.com. We will respond within thirty days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws like the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to object to processing or request data portability. We honor those requests on the same timeline.

6. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies for authentication (so you stay logged in) and for basic analytics. We do not use advertising cookies or sell tracking data to third parties.

7. Security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Authentication and database access are managed through Supabase. Payment data is handled exclusively by Stripe under PCI-compliant standards.

8. Children

EmpowerQuotes is not directed at children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes are noted by the date at the top and, for substantive changes, notified by email or in-app message.
